2 teaspoons salt

½ cup all-purpose flour

⅛ cup all-purpose flour

⅓ cup unsweetened cocoa powder

⅔ cup packed brown sugar

⅔ cup white sugar

½ cup semisweet chocolate chips

½ cup vanilla baking chips

½ cup walnuts

Directions

Layer salt, 1/2 cup plus 1/8 cup flour, and cocoa powder in a 1-quart wide-mouth canning jar. Wipe out the inside of the jar with a dry paper towel after adding the cocoa powder. Add brown sugar, white sugar, chocolate chips, vanilla chips, and walnuts, pressing each layer firmly in place. Seal the jar and attach a gift tag with baking instructions.

Baking instructions for the tag: Combine the contents of this jar with 3 eggs, 2/3 cup vegetable oil, and 1 teaspoon vanilla extract; mix until batter is smooth. Pour batter into a greased 9-inch square baking pan. Bake at 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) for 27 to 32 minutes.
